Protecting your information

A practical reading guide to domains, links and requests for personal information.

Check the complete address

Read the domain in the browser address bar, including its spelling and ending. A familiar logo does not establish that a page belongs to a particular organisation. Be careful with lookalike letters and unexpected redirects.

Understand what is requested

Before sharing identity documents or financial details, establish who is requesting them and why. Look for a clear privacy notice, a responsible organisation and a way to raise questions. Do not send passwords or one-time codes through unsolicited messages.

Treat downloads separately

An image advertising an app does not verify the app file. Review the publisher, source and permissions independently. This website preserves app-themed artwork but does not host application packages or recommend a download source.

Limit unnecessary sharing

Use unique passwords where accounts are genuinely needed and consider multi-factor authentication. Avoid reusing sensitive information across services. The information library itself does not need your identity or financial details.
